The Browns fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

There is reaching, and then there is J.J. Weaver at pick No. 255. The Browns jumped the board by 127 and dared it to prove them wrong.

Simon at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Browns clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
