If confidence were a draft strategy, the 49ers would have aced it. Jamari Lyons at pick No. 215 is 41 spots clear of where he belonged. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Tate.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
