A solid, sensible weekend for the Steelers: B-.

The needs board said one thing and the Steelers did another, using the Round 3 slot on Maason Smith while interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots waited.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

They are betting Williams proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
