Draft Grade — Panthers

More right than wrong for the Panthers, and a B to prove it. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Panthers walked out of the weekend still thin at wide receiver, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
In pick No. 8 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57
Rnd2
Trey Amos
A reasonable price with a little left over, Trey Amos in the 57th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
