The Raiders did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Raiders spent the Round 2 slot on Jalen Milroe, a name most had 58 spots down the list. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37
Rnd2
Jalen Milroe
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jalen Milroe in pick 37, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
