Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cardinals: B.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cardinals did exactly that with Andres Borregales in No. 115. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

However the rest shakes out, Grant at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

It is not that Borregales is a bad player; it is that the Cardinals had louder needs to answer first. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In slot 16 they get a centerpiece for the ground game at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick47 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
They will replay Kenneth Grant at No. 47 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick78 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams slipping to the 78th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick115 Rnd4 Andres Borregales
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 115th pick on Andres Borregales with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots unsolved.
Pick152 Rnd5 Tommi Hill
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tommi Hill. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick225 Rnd7 Akili Arnold
Nothing to complain about; Akili Arnold went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
