mainshark7 DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

Some hits, some head-scratchers, and a C+ for the Steelers. The Steelers clearly saw something nobody else did in Tyler Shough, taking him 59 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Omarion Hampton
In pick 21 they get a workhorse for the backfield, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick83
Rnd3
Tyler Shough
They talked themselves into Tyler Shough at the 83rd overall pick, and the board did not agree. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick123
Rnd4
Logan Brown
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Logan Brown well ahead of where he belonged. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick156
Rnd5
Jordan James
The board fumbled Jordan James all the way to No. 156, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
Pick185
Rnd6
Ricky White III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ricky White III. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
