Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB+ FutureB
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Eagles: B-.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Jalen Travis at the Round 5 slot, a reach of 124 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Warren to cover a lot of smaller sins.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the Round 1 slot they get a mismatch in the passing game, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick65 Rnd3 Deone Walker
They reached into another round for Deone Walker, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick96 Rnd3 Oluwafemi Oladejo
They reached a country mile for Oluwafemi Oladejo at No. 96, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick134 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
They took Malachi Moore at par in the 134th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick161 Rnd5 Robert Longerbeam
Robert Longerbeam at slot 161 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick164 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at Round 5, Pick 26 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick165 Rnd5 Jalen Travis
A wild overpay on Jalen Travis in the 165th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
Pick168 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the Round 5 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick246 Rnd7 Donovan Smith
They left a pile of value on the table to take Donovan Smith this early at the 246th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
