Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC+ FutureC+
The Cardinals kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Cardinals never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Allen. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell in slot 30 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick47 Rnd2 Marcus Mbow
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Marcus Mbow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick62 Rnd2 Maxwell Hairston
By-the-book stuff, Maxwell Hairston at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick78 Rnd3 Shemar Turner
Shemar Turner at Round 3, Pick 14 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick115 Rnd4 Tory Horton
A tidy little value on Tory Horton in pick No. 115, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick132 Rnd4 Riley Leonard
No edge and no loss on Riley Leonard in pick 132; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick152 Rnd5 LeQuint Allen
A tidy bit of business in the 152nd overall pick, where LeQuint Allen graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick225 Rnd7 Kobe Hudson
No drama and no debate, Kobe Hudson went about where he belonged in the 225th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
