The board owed the Jets one, and it paid up: Kyle McCord, the No. 117 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 5 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will need Briningstool to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
