The board owed the Saints one, and it paid up: Dylan Sampson, the No. 61 name on the board, sitting there at No. 131 like a gift left on the doorstep. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They are betting McLaughlin proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
