Boltzy55 DRAFTING FOR THEChargers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall

The Chargers let Kight fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. Call it larceny. Amari Kight sat on the board until the 213th pick, and the Chargers did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
In pick 12 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43
Rnd2
Ollie Gordon II
By-the-book stuff, Ollie Gordon II at slot 43 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick82
Rnd3
Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. at the 82nd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick118
Rnd4
Davison Igbinosun
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Davison Igbinosun graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick153
Rnd5
Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant at the 153rd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick175
Rnd5
Tez Johnson
The board had Tez Johnson higher than pick No. 175, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick180
Rnd6
Bryson Nesbit
Bryson Nesbit at No. 180 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick190
Rnd6
Mykel Williams
They paid sticker price for Mykel Williams in Round 6, Pick 15, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick213
Rnd6
Amari Kight
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 213 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick220
Rnd7
Kyren Lacy
Good price on Kyren Lacy in the Round 7 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick250
Rnd7
Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at the 250th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
