Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

FutureB+
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Giants and Carter: B. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Abdul Carter, the No. 38 name on the board, stolen at the Round 3 slot.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Campbell pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In the 11th pick they get a long-term starter on the line, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Xavier Restrepo
No drama and no debate, Xavier Restrepo went about where he belonged in slot 40. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick71
Rnd3
Abdul Carter
Abdul Carter in pick No. 71 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick107
Rnd4
Deontae Lawson
Taking Deontae Lawson in the Round 4 slot is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick134
Rnd4
Jordan James
Jordan James slid further than he should have, and the 134th overall pick is lovely value for the running back. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
