Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Packers: B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 27 spots for Josh Moten, and value like that does not grow back.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Getting Cuevas where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick59
Rnd2
Christen Miller
Christen Miller at pick 59 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick89
Rnd3
Ted Hurst
No drama and no debate, Ted Hurst went about where he belonged in the 89th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick98
Rnd3
Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes in No. 98 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick120
Rnd4
Parker Brailsford
Parker Brailsford at Round 4, Pick 20 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick129
Rnd4
J.C. Davis
They went early on J.C. Davis in the Round 4 slot, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick160
Rnd5
Seth McGowan
Seth McGowan at the 160th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick201
Rnd6
Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson in slot 201 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick236
Rnd7
Vinny Anthony II
The board had cheaper options than Vinny Anthony II at the 236th overall pick, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick239
Rnd7
Josh Moten
A big swing on Josh Moten at No. 239, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick255
Rnd7
Josh Cuevas
The board had Josh Cuevas higher than Round 7, Pick 39, and the tight end fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
