Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB FutureA+
Larceny in slot 138 lands the Saints a B+, Perkins Jr. and all.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Harold Perkins Jr. tumbling to the Saints in pick 138 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Devonte Wyatt deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Rueben Bain Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37 Rnd2 Derrick Moore
Derrick Moore in pick 37 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick53 Rnd2 Zane Durant
Zane Durant at the 53rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
Pick69 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
A slide stopped in No. 69, with Eli Stowers worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick105 Rnd4 Charles Jagusah
They paid sticker price for Charles Jagusah in the 105th overall pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick138 Rnd4 Harold Perkins Jr.
Circle this one: Harold Perkins Jr. at slot 138 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick144 Rnd5 Nic Anderson
Nic Anderson slid further than he should have, and pick No. 144 is lovely value for the wide receiver. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick183 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
Nice patience on Xavier Nwankpa, who had no business lasting to the Round 6 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick199 Rnd6 J.Michael Sturdivant
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing J.Michael Sturdivant in the Round 6 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
