Draft Grade — Raiders

The Raiders cashed the board's mistake on Reed: B. Somebody in pick No. 215 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Raiders sat still while Jaylen Reed, the No. 189 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Leonard left real value on the table behind him. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In the 6th overall pick they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
A slide stopped in pick No. 37, with Emeka Egbuka worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick68
Rnd3
Demetrius Knight Jr.
They let Demetrius Knight Jr. come to them and pounced at slot 68. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick108
Rnd4
Riley Leonard
This one needs a full-page explanation: Riley Leonard in Round 4, Pick 6, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick143
Rnd5
Kurtis Rourke
Nothing to complain about; Kurtis Rourke went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick180
Rnd6
Ollie Gordon II
A clean, defensible pick in pick 180 with a little surplus value in Ollie Gordon II. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick213
Rnd6
Caleb Ransaw
They did well to land Caleb Ransaw in the 213th pick, just ahead of his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick215
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
Steal is underselling it; Jaylen Reed at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick222
Rnd7
Luke Elzinga
Luke Elzinga in the 222nd pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
