You build a draft on nights like this. Moose Muhammad III had no business being available in pick No. 248, and the Lions did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Ford pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
