The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Cade Klubnik, the No. 93 name on the board, sitting there at slot 125 like a gift left on the doorstep.

Reaching for Kamara left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
