Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bears, and a B to prove it.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bears reached some 47 spots for Luke Elzinga, and value like that does not grow back.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In No. 10 they get a lockdown presence outside, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick39 Rnd2 Grey Zabel
Nothing to complain about; Grey Zabel went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
They took Tyler Booker at par in pick No. 41, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick72 Rnd3 Tre Harris
Tre Harris in pick 72 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick148 Rnd5 Luke Elzinga
A wild overpay on Luke Elzinga in the Round 5 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick233 Rnd7 Trevor Etienne
A quiet steal in the 233rd overall pick: Trevor Etienne for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick240 Rnd7 Kitan Crawford
Kitan Crawford in No. 240 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
