FutureA+
The phones sank the Browns this weekend: B-. The Browns spent real capital to be 110 picks early on Barryn Sorrell, and the board is going to hold them to it. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The Gordon II steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
A slide stopped in pick No. 14, with Ashton Jeanty worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick44
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau in pick 44 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick56
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at No. 56 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick62
Rnd2
Azareye'h Thomas
A reasonable price with a little left over, Azareye'h Thomas in the 62nd overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick67
Rnd3
Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick94
Rnd3
Savion Williams
Savion Williams at the 94th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick103
Rnd4
Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers at the 103rd overall pick is money in the bank, a quarterback taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick116
Rnd4
Charles Grant
They robbed the room for Charles Grant here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick165
Rnd5
Que Robinson
A wild overpay on Que Robinson in slot 165, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jeffrey Bassa
Circle this one: Jeffrey Bassa at No. 175 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick181
Rnd6
Tyler Shough
The board fumbled Tyler Shough all the way to the 181st pick, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick194
Rnd6
Hayden Conner
A conviction pick on Hayden Conner at pick 194 that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
Pick202
Rnd6
Barryn Sorrell
They reached a country mile for Barryn Sorrell at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick216
Rnd6
Ollie Gordon II
Somehow Ollie Gordon II was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 38, and they pounced on premier running back value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick217
Rnd6
Collin Oliver
Collin Oliver in Round 6, Pick 39 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick234
Rnd7
Donovan Edwards
Donovan Edwards at the 234th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick257
Rnd7
Phillip Webb
They reached into another round for Phillip Webb, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
