Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Wilson: B-.

Call it larceny. Jared Wilson sat on the board until Round 4, Pick 22, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They will need Hawes to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In the 23rd pick they get an anchor for the defensive front. A real need, handled.
Pick54 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Fair-plus on Trey Amos, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick87 Rnd3 Darien Porter
Darien Porter at pick 87 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick124 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
Circle this one: Jared Wilson at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick159 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Logan Brown at the 159th overall pick is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick198 Rnd6 CJ West
CJ West is a better player than pick No. 198 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick237 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
No edge and no loss on Isaac TeSlaa in Round 7, Pick 21; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick250 Rnd7 Jackson Hawes
The board had cheaper options than Jackson Hawes at slot 250, and it noticed. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
