The phones sank the Patriots this weekend: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Patriots did exactly that with Addison West in the 171st overall pick.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
