Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The 49ers won the night they stopped Dixon from sliding. Grade: B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Johnny Dixon, the No. 125 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 177.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Limmer has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In the 31st overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot.
Pick63 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton in No. 63 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick94 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They took Zak Zinter at par in Round 3, Pick 31, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick98 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni in pick 98 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick131 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
A reach on Beaux Limmer in slot 131; the board had better options right there. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick177 Rnd6 Johnny Dixon
You do not let a cornerback like Johnny Dixon reach the Round 6 slot and blink. They did not. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick209 Rnd6 Myles Jones
Myles Jones in the 209th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick213 Rnd6 Kenny Logan Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Kenny Logan Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick215 Rnd6 Brevyn Spann-Ford
They went early on Brevyn Spann-Ford in the 215th overall pick, and the value did not follow. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick252 Rnd7 Joshua Cephus
Joshua Cephus is a better player than No. 252 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
