The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

Somebody in slot 252 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Kyle Monangai, the No. 213 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Conner has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
