If confidence were a draft strategy, the 49ers would have aced it. Jack Velling at slot 167 is 42 spots clear of where he belonged. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Landing Wilson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
