Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills let Winston Jr. fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

When a board-topper like Kevin Winston Jr. slides to the Round 4 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Bills did not. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They will need Pegues to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Mike Green
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a premier pass rusher. A real need, handled.
Pick56 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
By-the-book stuff, Azareye'h Thomas at slot 56 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick62 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Somehow Emeka Egbuka was still sitting there in the Round 2 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick109 Rnd4 Shemar Turner
Shemar Turner in the 109th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick132 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. at pick No. 132 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick169 Rnd5 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
They let Antwaun Powell-Ryland come to them and pounced at the 169th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick170 Rnd5 Kalel Mullings
Kalel Mullings at No. 170 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
Pick173 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
They went early on JJ Pegues in pick 173, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick177 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
They took Jack Kiser at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick206 Rnd6 Alijah Huzzie
Alijah Huzzie at Round 6, Pick 30 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
