The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bills and Moore: B. You could see the war room lean forward. Malachi Moore at the Round 6 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts slid further than he should have, and the Round 2 slot is lovely value for the safety. The roster fit checks out.
Pick62
Rnd2
Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas at pick 62 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick109
Rnd4
Tai Felton
Nice patience on Tai Felton, who had no business lasting to pick No. 109. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick132
Rnd4
Joshua Farmer
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Joshua Farmer in the 132nd pick, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169
Rnd5
DJ Giddens
DJ Giddens in the 169th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick170
Rnd5
Chase Lundt
No edge and no loss on Chase Lundt in No. 170; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick173
Rnd5
Kurtis Rourke
The board fumbled Kurtis Rourke all the way to slot 173, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick177
Rnd6
Malachi Moore
They will replay Malachi Moore at the 177th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick206
Rnd6
Jay Higgins
A tidy little value on Jay Higgins in the 206th pick, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
