Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueC NeedB TradesA FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Ravens: B.

The tape said wait; the Ravens did not. Dont'e Thornton Jr. went at No. 150, a good 32 picks before the board was ready. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Lambert-Smith pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Donovan Ezeiruaku
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick56 Rnd2 Darien Porter
Darien Porter at the Round 2 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick62 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
A clean, defensible pick in the 62nd pick with a little surplus value in Jayden Higgins. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick92 Rnd3 Charles Grant
Charles Grant at pick 92 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick101 Rnd3 Jordan Phillips
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Phillips at slot 101 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick132 Rnd4 Cody Simon
Cody Simon at No. 132 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick133 Rnd4 Logan Brown
A reach on Logan Brown in No. 133; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick150 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the 150th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick172 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
A real head-scratcher, Oronde Gadsden II in Round 5, Pick 34 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick175 Rnd5 Ben Sauls
Ben Sauls in the 175th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick212 Rnd6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
A quiet steal in the Round 6 slot: KeAndre Lambert-Smith for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219 Rnd7 R.J. Mickens
R.J. Mickens at pick No. 219 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick223 Rnd7 Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson in slot 223 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
