A masterclass at the trade table lands the Browns a B+.

The Browns did not so much draft EJ Smith as overpay for him, 197 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

On value alone, Grant makes the weekend a net positive. The veteran additions, Baker Mayfield chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
