GOAT man DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall
B
ValueB-

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B. The 49ers torched the value chart for Chase Bisontis, taking him 38 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They banked enough surplus on Branch to cover a lot of smaller sins. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Kadyn Proctor
Kadyn Proctor at pick No. 26 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick59
Rnd2
Connor Lew
A reasonable price with a little left over, Connor Lew in the 59th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick90
Rnd3
Chase Bisontis
Value said wait; Chase Bisontis in slot 90 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick127
Rnd4
Jude Bowry
They paid a round early for Jude Bowry in the Round 4 slot, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick133
Rnd4
Derrick Moore
A big swing on Derrick Moore at No. 133, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick138
Rnd4
Zachariah Branch
You do not let a wide receiver like Zachariah Branch reach the 138th overall pick and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
