The Patriots did not so much draft Akheem Mesidor as overpay for him, 105 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

The Winston Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
