Every swap seemed to tilt away from the 49ers, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.

It is not that Stover is a bad player; it is that the 49ers had louder needs to answer first. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They banked enough surplus on Thomas to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
