FutureA
The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Williams: B. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Flournoy falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Limmer reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In the 1st pick they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick27
Rnd1
Adonai Mitchell
In pick No. 27 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick57
Rnd2
Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick75
Rnd3
Patrick Paul
The board had cheaper options than Patrick Paul at No. 75, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick87
Rnd3
Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker in the 87th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick90
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
They took Calen Bullock at par in slot 90, which is nothing to complain about. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick97
Rnd3
Maason Smith
A straight-up fair deal on Maason Smith at pick 97, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick122
Rnd4
Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving at Round 4, Pick 22 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick125
Rnd4
Beaux Limmer
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Beaux Limmer well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick186
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
The board had Kamal Hadden higher than pick No. 186, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick216
Rnd6
Ryan Flournoy
They will replay Ryan Flournoy at slot 216 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick224
Rnd7
Garret Greenfield
By-the-book stuff, Garret Greenfield at the Round 7 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
