Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Browns kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

Everything else got attention, and edge rusher got none. That is a strange way for the Browns to leave a draft. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will need Lachey to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In pick No. 2 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
A tidy bit of business in slot 33, where Jalon Walker graded well above the range. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick67 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins at the 67th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick94 Rnd3 Quinn Ewers
By-the-book stuff, Quinn Ewers at the 94th pick squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick104 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
Good price on Kevin Winston Jr. in pick 104, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick179 Rnd6 Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick192 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
A slide stopped in Round 6, Pick 16, with Jack Kiser worth more than the price. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick200 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at No. 200 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick216 Rnd6 Donovan Edwards
Donovan Edwards at the 216th pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick255 Rnd7 Ty Hamilton
Ty Hamilton in the 255th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
