Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Greg Johnson got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at the 133rd pick.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Heldt lower, and that gap is the story. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
