Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Larceny in slot 224 lands the Dolphins a B-, Brooks and all.

Call it larceny. Tahj Brooks sat on the board until the Round 7 slot, and the Dolphins did not need to be asked twice. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They are betting Milum proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Wyatt Milum
In the 13th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Pick48 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders at slot 48 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick98 Rnd3 Kyle McCord
Value said wait; Kyle McCord in the 98th pick says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick116 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 14, with Lathan Ransom worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick135 Rnd4 Jackson Slater
They jumped the gun on Jackson Slater, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick150 Rnd5 Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams at No. 150 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick155 Rnd5 Nick Nash
Nick Nash at the Round 5 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick224 Rnd7 Tahj Brooks
A running back of that caliber at pick No. 224 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick231 Rnd7 Ja'Quinden Jackson
They did well to land Ja'Quinden Jackson in pick 231, just ahead of his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick253 Rnd7 Cody Lindenberg
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cody Lindenberg. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
