Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Bears spent the 188th overall pick on Brevyn Spann-Ford, a name most had 36 spots down the list.

Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.
