The Bears bet big and early on Javontae Jean-Baptiste, 115 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with interior defensive lineman and running back open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Jones pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
