A franchise passer in Williams headlines a D- weekend for the Bears.

Somebody took the Bears to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

Caleb Williams is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The Stover pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

They are betting Stover proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The Smith value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
