The tape said wait; the Bears did not. Jordan Whittington went at Round 7, Pick 12, a good 31 picks before the board was ready. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
