Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Bears bet the future on Williams. The board says B+.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Thomas Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In slot 1 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick30 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Guyton. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick48 Rnd2 Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. at No. 48 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick62 Rnd2 Sedrick Van Pran
The board had cheaper options than Sedrick Van Pran at pick 62, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick75 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. in Round 3, Pick 11 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick96 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
By-the-book stuff, Brenden Rice at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick113 Rnd4 Leonard Taylor III
A tidy little value on Leonard Taylor III in the 113th pick, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick114 Rnd4 Maason Smith
A reasonable price with a little left over, Maason Smith in pick No. 114. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick116 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson at the 116th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick122 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at pick No. 122 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
