The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

However the rest shakes out, Mitchell at that price is a win they earned. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.
