FutureB
A passer of the future in Williams, and a B+, for the Bears. After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
However the rest shakes out, Wilson at that price is a win they earned. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick15
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In pick 15 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at No. 46 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick75
Rnd3
Roman Wilson
Circle this one: Roman Wilson at Round 3, Pick 11 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick122
Rnd4
Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson in the 122nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
