The Bears bet the future on Daniels. The board says A-.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. It is not that Barner is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first. Barner has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

In the end it comes back to Jayden Daniels, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
