The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bears were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots still on the board.

The Powers-Johnson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
