A franchise passer in Williams headlines a B weekend for the Bears.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

That Jackson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. If Kamara pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
