They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Cooper at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
