Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Will Howard got past him. The Bears do not have to explain a thing at No. 148. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
