Best value of the weekend goes to the Bears for Whittington: A-. Somebody in the 246th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Jordan Whittington, the No. 207 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, with Denzel Burke leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
