Best value of the weekend goes to the Cowboys for Skattebo: D.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent the 209th overall pick on Joey Slackman, a name the board had a full 66 spots lower. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

Skattebo at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.
